Woken by Alberto

We were woken at 3am this morning by tropical storm Alberto . . . We have one of those weather radio things (Purchased during the string of hurricanes two years ago), and at 3am it sounded the “Tornado Warning” announcement from the national weather center. It’s always tricky to know what to do; a tornado watch says that conditions are favorable for one, but a warning means one is thought to be iminent. Our town was specifically mentioned as where one may happen, so it makes it a little tricky to get back to sleep immediately. Perhaps the other Floridians are used to it, but it still gets me thinking . . .ÂÂ
By the way, Florida has the third highest number of tornados per year (after Oklahoma and Texas, but BEFORE Kansas). Now there is a number that surprised me!
